Aaron Pico may have lost this past Saturday night but he continues to grow as a fighter and person. Saturday was a rough night for him and he took his first KO loss in MMA. He issued a statement via his Twitter after his stunning KO loss to Henry Corrales.
“Tough one last night. Had a great camp and felt great in the cage. Hit him with some shots and got overly excited for the Finish. Made a rookie mistake and should have executed my wrestling. It’s all a learning process and the experience will come with more time. Until then, we keep improving and going forward. Thank you to all my fans, friends, and family for your continued support.”
Pico looked to be on his way to going 5-1 on Saturday night at Bellator 214 when he got overzealous and began to brawl with his opponent, Henry Corrales. Corrales landed a shot that put Pico out immediately and just like that, Pico is now 4-2.
While most kids his age (22) would get frustrated and overthink the loss, Pico seems to take it in stride and is using it as a just another learning experience.
