Kru Bird of AKA Thailand demonstrating Muay Thai basics: Part 3. (Do at home)

Thus far we’ve posted videos with one of AKA Thailand’s Muay Thai trainers, Kru Bird, demonstrating Muay Thai basics. During this time of self-isolation people still need to be active, so we’ve compiled our basic Muay Thai videos that you can use on your own at home. Right now, Mike Swick and the AKA Thailand staff are developing an app to aid in online training. Until then, we have very basic videos for beginners to try out.  Part 1

Body Kick:

Kru Bird uses a heavy bag in this video but you do not. He goes over the intricacies of the body kick for people to use with proper form.

Lean Back

Like Fat Joe says, “Lean Back”. Bird shows how to lean back and dodge kicks.

Blocking Kicks

Blocking low kicks and blocking body kicks. Bird showing how to block and check kicks. This will get your opponent to stop throwing kicks, once they feel shin hitting shin.

High Kick

Similar to the body kick, the high kick is just a small change in technique. This one unchecked can be one of the most devastating knockout blows!
