AKA Thailand is happy to announce that we have a new head coach for our BJJ program and we couldn’t be happier! Brian Mallory takes over as our lead instructor and brings a wealth of knowledge with him to AKA Thailand. Brian is a longtime friend of AKA Thailand owner/founder, Mike Swick, who only has good things to say about him.
Swick posted on the AKA Thailand Instagram his thoughts on the arrival of Mallory,
“So happy to have my longtime friend Brian Mallory now part of the AKA Thailand family! The new program will be the most fun, technical, and structured program we have ever had!”
Brian comes to us as a first-degree BJJ Black Belt under Charles Gracie. His journey in martial arts began in Kickboxing where he went on to win the Sport Sabate Kickboxing Tournament in 2006. That same year he earned the rank of Brown Belt in Krav Maga. His transition to BJJ came quite naturally, starting in 2004. He fell in love with the art and spent 13 years training, competing, and teaching. In 2017 he received his black belt under Charles Gracie.
Brian’s credentials and certifications are extremely impressive as well. He is certified in Street Self Defense Training through the Charles Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Association. Brian also has a certification in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. Along with these accomplishments, Brian has won multiple BJJ tournaments and world championships at both the Pan Ams and Worlds.
Brian’s passion for BJJ has ultimately led him to AKA Thailand. Here, his teaching focus is spreading his vast knowledge to his students. Mike Swick made the right choice in choosing Brian to lead our BJJ program into the future with this experienced head coach.
