AKAThailand.TVLuke Rockhold is never short on confidence. Now that he’s making his move up to light heavyweight that confidence hasn’t wavered one bit. Luke is one of those guys who was killing himself to make a certain weight. With Rockhold stating that his middleweight days are behind him, he has a message to the UFC light heavyweight division, more specifically, Jon Jones. “Hold tight. I’m coming, princess.”
We’ve seen the success that guys have had when going up weight divisions. Usually, it’s guys moving down in weight to get an advantage. However, recently, it’s the guys who are moving up and not totally depleting themselves that are finding success.
Guys like Thiago Santos, Anthony Smith, and most recently, Michael Chiesa; All have found that fighting at a more natural weight is way better for them and their bodies are responding in kind.
Rockhold will move up to 205 pounds and it remains to be seen if he joins the club of guys who were in the wrong weight class all along. Jones better buckle up because Rockhold is coming for that strap and as we all know, styles make fights.
