This weekend in Abu Dhabi at UFC 242 we will once again watch the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov step into the Octagon. He will take on the interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier. Before that fight goes down this weekend, we revisit Khabib’s last victory; His October 2018 fight against Conor McGregor.
The build up to UFC 229 was well-documented and at times, pretty classless. Conor McGregor did everything in his power to promote a fight between himself and Khabib. He went so far as to throw a dolly through a bus window. McGregor got his wish and what resulted was an epic thrashing, as well as a fracas that saw a lot of people get fined heavily.
The fight itself was a dominant victory for Khabib and it was the last time that either man has fought (inside the cage).
