Transportation to get around Phuket the easiest way possible

You must pick a means for transportation when in Phuket, Thailand. Tourism is particularly crazy in Phuket and it’s imperative to choose the proper vehicle to get around. We outlined the ways to get around so you don’t make the mistake of taking the wrong mode of travel.

Bicycle

One of the most popular ways to get around anywhere in the world is by bicycle. Unlike the motorized ways of transportation you can ride bicycles anywhere.

Tuk Tuks

For short distances tuk tuks are fine, but their small size makes them uncomfortable for anything longer than about 30 minutes. Tuk tuks are basically motorized rickshaws. The are small and cramped but great for short distances; Kind of like Spirit Airlines.

Taxis

Air-conditioned car taxis can be hired at all the main resort areas and in Phuket Town, with rates similar to the tuk tuks. Expect to bargain your fare in advance. Many of these are being converted into metered taxis in an island-wide drive to improve the transport system.

Local Open Air Buses

You can grab a bus anywhere and there are no set stops. It’s up to you where and when you want a bus to stop. Basically there is a bus route and you ride it until you feel like getting off.

Motorbikes

The best way to get around Phuket if you are riding solo and can rent a scooter or motorbike. Obviously if you are traveling with kids this isn’t an option because of how unsafe it is putting a child on the back. But, if you’re alone, this is the way to go.
