UFC vet, Mike Swick, shows us how to set up the triangle choke

A UFC vet like Mike Swick showing us the triangle choke setup is invaluable. His time in the Octagon and years of rolling with some of the best grapplers in MMA make him the perfect person to demonstrate the move.

The triangle choke is one of the most commonly used finishers in both MMA and BJJ. It is also a very effective choke to use and one of the easier ones to set up. The triangle is so unique and difficult to escape from because you use your legs, which are a LOT stronger than just using your arms.

Swick shows variations of the choke but ultimately he demonstrates how to catch your opponent and finish them. Mike Swick is known as a striker but after years on the mats with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Josh Koscheck, Jon Fitch, Cain Velasquez, and Daniel Cormier… He had to become a well-versed grappler.

As Swick demonstrates in this video, he is more than capable of being a high-level grappler. The UFC vet shows his triangle prowess and can hopefully help you polish your technique.
