Yair Rodriguez’ life has been a rollercoaster ride for the past year. First, he was matched up with Zabit Magomedsharipov. He chose not to fight, so the UFC fired him. Then, the UFC rehired him and scheduled him to fight Zabit again. However, as sure as the sun will rise, injury struck and Yair is out.
It’s depressing that we can’t ever get scheduled fights anymore. The injury bug plagues the UFC and all of MMA, for that matter.
The UFC have not officially confirmed this news, but MMAJunkie has reported this to be fact.
Zabit still wants a piece of Rodriguez in the future. He does still plan to fight at UFC 228.
@panteraufc if you injured or not im fighting regardless so get your mind prepared for a battle. Im going to fight someone in September and I will fight you in November or December. No more running @seanshelby @danawhite
