Yesterday was a rumor, today it’s fact. Till vs Woodley to headline UFC 228

While Tyron Woodley vs Darren Till was only a rumor, the UFC announced it as a fact today. The two welterweights will square off in the main event of UFC 228 in Dallas, Texas, on September 8.

From UFC.com:

“The UFC’s return to Dallas on September 8 will now feature a championship doubleheader as the promotion announced Tuesday that undisputed welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will put his title on the line for the fourth time against unbeaten British banger Darren Till in the UFC 228 main event at American Airlines Center.”

While there is still an interim welterweight title out there being held by Colby Covington, that belt has seemed to be rendered insignificant. Well, more insignificant.

The matchup between Woodley and Till will see Woodley step back into the cage after more than a year of inactivity. He will be taking on a guy who has never tasted defeat and claims that he will be the best fighter in the world, no matter what. Till gets to prove if he has that mettle when he gets his first crack at gold on September 8.
