At this very moment, AKA Thailand is hosting training to current and former UFC fighters. While we can’t stress enough that AKA Thailand is a gym for everyone, it is still a place where fighters at the highest level can come to train. On the mats this morning there were four fighters with a total of almost 60 UFC fights. Mike Swick, Tyron Woodley, Ian Heinisch, and Nate Marquardt were all in attendance for the morning pro class.
Ian Heinisch is 2-2 in his UFC campaign. Heinisch made his UFC debut after he impressively showed out on Dana White’s Contender Series, winning his fight with a first round KO.
Mike Swick was a perennial #1 contender in the UFC until injuries and other ventures caught up with him. Swick followed his dream of opening a luxury supergym in Thailand and called it a career to focus on AKA Thailand. He finished with a UFC record of 10-5.
Nate Marquardt is a 25 fight UFC veteran and the former Strikeforce welterweight champion. Marquardt was always a top 10 middleweight and welterweight. He’s had a decorated career as he is a 3-time King of Pancrase as well.
Lastly, Tyron Woodley is out here doing his pre-camp in preparation for his March UFC main event fight against top contender, Leon Edwards. In Woodley’s last fight, he dropped the UFC welterweight title to Kamaru Usman and is now looking to regain that top spot. The road to the belt begins with Leon Edwards.
Our mats are always filled with top level guys as well as beginners. However, right now, AKA Thailand is housing some monster fighters with UFC credentials to their name!
